Note: A couple of students who originally signed up have failed to reply to emails over the past week and are not included in the roster. If you are one of those and have any questions, feel free as always to contact us via our inbox at email@example.com
Signups for the club are available early September. Students from grades 10-12 are eligible to sign up, but those in the highest grades will be given priority if the number of signups exceeds the number of open spaces in the club. A final decision on who is accepted to the club will be communicated here by September 20 at the latest. Those signing up now are only committing to the club for the fall intramural season. A separate signup process will take place for each of the three sports seasons. This season's activity will be hiking. The plan so far is for the winter season's activity to be snowshoeing, and the spring season to be canoeing.
A full calendar will be posted here as soon as possible, but in the meantime here are some key dates so you can decide if you will be able to commit to joining the outdoor club. Practices/meetings will be on Wednesdays from 3pm to 5pm at Credo, with the first one September 27th and the final practice/meeting on October 18th. These sessions will cover a variety of practical topics like what type of gear is required, how to make a trip plan, etc. to ensure that we are all well prepared to have successful hikes. Of course we also hope to have a lot of fun in the process!
A mandatory day hike will take place on Thursday October 5th. The season will end with an overnight hike on October 20-21. Exact times and locations for the hikes is still to be determined.
If you want to sign up but have a burning question that you need answered before you know if you will be able to participate, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do our best to reply promptly. For logistical questions such as what type of footwear you can wear and whether you need to be willing to eat granola, please hold off until we finalize the list of participants and we will deal with those issues when we start our outdoor club meetings.
